la caravelle

We spent the weekend in Marseille and after an afternoon of walking around part of the old centre, we stopped for a late afternoon pot of tea in La Caravelle. This is quite literally the best café-cocktail tapas bar in the centre, around the Vieux Port. It's on the first floor of the Hotel Bellevue and has fantastic views out over the old port. Fading, nautical French chic - it's extremely charming.

le carré d'art

The Carré d'Art in Nîmes is a cultural centre designed by Norman Foster. Last week I made a visit there to see an exhibition by the photographer Jean-Luc Moulene.
The building is an excellent place to experiment with reflections and try out new lenses!
Plus, the café terrace must be a contender for my favourite café view. At the moment it's still closed for the winter but I'll post some pictures from it when it gets warmer.
